A slender elf woman of unsettling beauty, her skin pale as moonlight on old bone. A single thick braid of moonbeam-white hair falls over one shoulder, glowing faintly in gloom. Her eyes are pools of pure void-black, without white or iris, yet somehow warm when she smiles. She wears a flowing gossamer nightgown, pale and faintly luminous, unfit for combat yet worn like armor. A heavy crossbow is strapped across her back, its bulk a stark contrast to her delicate frame. At her throat rests a small pendant she clasps between both fists in silent devotion.

Runaway fortune-teller turned monster-hunting mercenary

Traits

Reverent Haunted Fierce Gentle

Motivations

To keep the whispering dark that lives behind her eyes from consuming her, and to protect the innocents she once could only watch suffer beneath the big top.

Goals

Hunt down the ringmaster who bound her sight to the void, free the other performers still chained to his circus, and learn whether the darkness inside her can ever be silenced.

Secrets

Her void-black eyes are not blindness but a bargain: she traded her true sight to a thing beneath the circus in exchange for the power to see the deaths of those around her before they happen. The pendant she guards holds a splinter of that entity, and each time she uses her sight it grows heavier.

Soft and unhurried, with a lilting hush as though sharing secrets. She pauses often, listening to things others cannot hear, and speaks in gentle riddles when frightened.

  • Death-sight: glimpses the imminent demise of any creature she looks upon
  • Sees perfectly in total darkness through her void eyes
  • Uncanny elven accuracy with the crossbow, firing by instinct rather than aim
  • A folded fortune-teller's card marked with her own future, left blank
  • A lock of hair from a performer she failed to save
  • A tin of salt for warding thresholds
