Aleksei Davidovich Varn
Nightbound heir · Reluctant predator
“I do not hunger for your fear. I hunger for the morning I will never see again.”
Gender
Male
Age
24 years
Species
Vampire
Alignment
Chaotic Neutral
Appearance
A gaunt young man with the pallor of candle-wax and veins faintly blue beneath translucent skin. His eyes are the grey of ash before it falls, ringed with sleeplessness that will never end. Dark hair hangs in loose, unkempt waves, and his lips are bloodless save when freshly fed. He moves with a dancer's silence, dressed in the mildewed finery of a bygone estate.
Occupation
Disinherited nobleman turned wandering nightwalker
Personality
Traits
Motivations
He clings to the faded hope of restoring the humanity stripped from him, and to the memory of the father whose curse he unwillingly inherited.
Goals
To find the sorceress who sired his bloodline and learn whether the curse can be broken, or failing that, ended on his own terms.
Secrets
He has not killed a living soul since his turning; he feeds only on the dying and the beasts, a vow he hides because predators who smell weakness in a vampire do not let it live long.
Way of speaking
Soft and measured, with long pauses as if choosing each word against some inner ache; he speaks in old courtly turns of phrase, rarely raising his voice, often trailing into melancholy.
